First and foremost, Sabry Marouf is a creative partnership between Ahmed Sabry and Daki Marouf. Two individuals with shared ideas, shared ideals and a shared commitment to doing things differently. Based out of our East London studio, we work with a worldwide network of artisans in the UK, Italy, and Egypt to create modern-day, wearable artefacts.
Having worked first in the creation of opulent signature jewellery, our creativity is now channeled through the form of luxury handbags. While the artefacts themselves may differ in shape and materials, they share a common bond and this evolution feels like a natural and necessary step. The codes, signifiers, ideas and references which continue to lead our thinking remain in place – only the vessels have changed.
Our creations pay tribute to our shared heritage, combining aspects of Ancient Egypt with contemporary expression to better articulate something entirely new and the notion of timeless, cherished objects is at the heart of our creative process and of our working philosophy.

The restrictions and conventions of bag-making are not unbreakable.
We ask ourselves where our pieces will be in 100 years time and, with this in mind, we endeavour to merge the latest processes with traditional, artisanal craftsmanship: we see Sabry Marouf creations as a project of continuous research and development – a reminder that the restrictions and conventions of bag-making are not unbreakable, and that the we must learn from the past to progress in the present.
Progress, too, informs every decision that we make as Sabry Marouf. We are committed, as a brand, to sustainable development – and, as people, we are equally committed to creating a positive impact on the Earth when and where we can.
