The brand Founded in 2012, Sabry Marouf specialises in highly differentiated jewellery and leather-goods. The breakout luxury brand is known for cultivating a striking and contemporary aesthetic that makes them the vanguard for a new generation of Middle Eastern designers. Based in London since 2015, Ahmed Sabry and Daki Marouf fuse technological modernism with exquisite craftsmanship and symbolism as old as the dynasties of ancient Egypt. The result is evolutionary pieces that are organic, poetic and wholly versatile.
In February 2016 Sabry Marouf was endorsed by the British Fashion Council to show at The International Fashion Showcase at the prestigious Somerset House during London Fashion Week. Most recently the brand was selected by Vogue Talents as one of 2016’s top emerging designers, and has since showed at Milan Fashion Week.
The designers Sabry and Marouf are inspired by culture and art from the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Prior to launching their first collection they spent two years working with metalworkers and smiths in Cairo’s historic crafts district of Khan el-Khalili. The experience empowered the young designers to develop a unique aesthetic that reverberates throughout their work. Marouf—formally trained as an architect—infuses each piece with technical and futuristic elements while Sabry roots entire collections in a rich historical narrative. Visionaries, innovators and storytellers, Sabry and Marouf are recent graduates of the London College of Fashion, with Sabry graduating from the highly acclaimed MA Fashion Artefact course and Marouf pursing his MA in Fashion Entrepreneurship & Innovation. They are currently taking a short sabbatical from designing jewellery to focus on Amarna, a debut collection of leather handbags and clutches that will be available in Spring 2017.
The muse The SabryMarouf muse is on the cusp of a revolution. She is every woman in search of awakening, and is prepared to go wherever she needs to, so she can take control of her destiny.
Passionate, sophisticated and adventurous, the Sabry Marouf woman embraces her multi-dimensional nature. And because she knows there is more to her than meets the eye she adorns herself with precious artifacts and timeless accessories that reflect the various parts of who she is and what she stands for. Luxury pieces that, like the ornaments treasured by the ancient pharaohs, withstand the test of time.
